A main meal in the air fryer often takes less time than the oven, especially for smaller portions. These dinner recipes cover chicken, pork, beef, lamb, fish and vegetarian dishes, with exact quantities, temperatures and times, so you can plan the whole meal around when each part will be ready.
Cooking the main part of the meal
Most meat dishes cook at about 180 °C. Chicken, minced meat and sausages should reach 75 °C in the centre, and whole cuts of pork 70 °C. Steaks and lamb can stay pink in the middle if the outside is properly cooked, and the recipes give a range of temperatures for rare to well done. Always rest meat for a few minutes before slicing so the juices settle. You will find more detail in meat and fish.
Sides and timing
Potatoes, roast vegetables and other sides can usually go in the basket before or after the main item, since most of them cook at a similar temperature. If you need to keep one part warm, cover it loosely with foil. For vegetable-based sides, see vegetables. The air fryer cooking times and temperatures table makes it easy to line up several dishes for the same meal.
